Northwest's Liebherr LR1400/2-W in standard configuration is the first crane of its size and design to erect Suzlon model S88 Turbines in the U.S. The S88 project was located near Sioux Falls, SD. The LR1400 erected 10, S88 turbines on the project. The crane handled the heavy components at 88% of maximum operational capacity. The LR1400/2-W hoisted the 170,500lb Nacelle with a total boom tip height of 317ft. The crane also operated in -32 degree weather.
