Northwest team members rigged up the Liebherr LR1400/2-W Narrow Track with Derrick and Ballast system to stand and set a 218,627 lb Demethanizer Tower at a Gas Plant near Calumet, OK. The lift required Northwest's Liebherr LTM 1400-7.1 equipped with Y Guides and full counterweight to tail the tower up. The LR1400/2-W Narrow Track was rigged with the newly acquired Derrick and Ballast tray attachments giving the crawler crane a max capacity of 372,000lbs. Northwest has utilized the majority of their heavy lift equipment to set various components at the Gas plant since the start of the construction phase of the project in early February. All lifts completed at the project were engineered by Northwest's Engineering and Lift Plan Team. Northwest's Safety Director Grant Ross designed and implemented a project specific safety program to ensure that all lifts were made in a safe and controlled manner.
