Northwest Crane Service L.L.C. introduces the addition of a second 660 ton capacity Liebherr LR 1600/2 crawler crane to its growing fleet. Northwest Crane was the first company in North America to offer the Liebherr LR 1600/2 in March of 2008 after taking delivery of the first machine built by Liebherr in Ehingen, Germany. The crane is configured specifically for the heavy lift industry and the unique design comes with 453’ main boom, ballast tray, over 1 million pounds of ballast, derrick and 315’ luffing jib. When fitted with 315’ straight boom and 315’ luffing jib, the LR 1600/2 is capable of lifting over 40,000 lbs. to a height of 620 feet. The company’s first Liebherr LR 1600/2 has been utilized on numerous wind energy construction projects across the country and the new crane has strong customer demand for 2011.
